As a teacher and behavior analyst, I was passionate about helping others succeed. But I hit a wall I couldn't power through.
Night after night, I'd wake at 2 or 3 a.m. - exhausted but unable to sleep.
The harder I pushed, the more drained and defeated I felt.
But it wasn't my own struggle that changed everything.
It was watching the kids I worked with regress.
Children who'd made incredible breakthroughs would suddenly backslide - and I couldn't figure out why. Then I started asking about sleep. That's when I saw it: the ripple effect. One child's poor sleep affected their behavior, which affected their parents' sleep, which affected their work performance, which affected their family dynamics - a vicious cycle no one was addressing.
That's when I went back to school to become a Certified Behavioral Sleep Practitioner. Combined with my credentials as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I finally understood:
